Transport organisation adapted to plastics production schedules

Plastic injection moulding creates varied flows between raw-material suppliers, mould makers, production sites, subcontractors, platforms and customers. Some movements are planned, while others are directly linked to a production emergency.

We consider weight, dimensions, packaging, handling constraints and deadlines to define an organisation suited to each flow.

Supporting our plastic industry customers

We have been supporting customers in the plastics and injection moulding industry for several years. In this field, transport reliability directly affects production continuity, whether the shipment concerns a press machine, a mould, raw material, packaged injected parts or a load intended for the end customer.

A delay affecting a mould, a shortage of plastic granules, a poorly coordinated inter-site transfer or a late shipment of plastic components can quickly disrupt a production line. At Drivet Transport International, we therefore pay close attention to punctuality, handling requirements, packaging, loading slots and clear shipment follow-up.

From transporting machines and tooling to delivering finished plastic parts on pallets, we adapt the organisation to the customer’s real need: urgent production support, regular rotations, dedicated charter, part load or scheduled shipment. Our aim is to provide a reliable, responsive and lasting transport solution aligned with the operational constraints of the plastics industry.

Loading & transport of industrial press machines

Loading industrial press machines: end-to-end coordination

Moving an injection moulding press or plastics-industry machine involves much more than the road transport itself. Drivet Transport International can coordinate the full operation, from reviewing the loading method and lifting resources through to positioning the machine on the vehicle and transporting it to the destination site.

Lifting an industrial press for loading onto a specialised heavy transport vehicle

1. Upstream technical review

Weight, dimensions, centre of gravity, lifting points, building access and site configuration are reviewed in order to prepare a loading method suited to the machine and its environment.

2. Lifting and handling coordination

Overhead cranes, mobile cranes, lifting accessories, handling teams and intervention slots are coordinated so that every party has the right information at the right time.

3. Loading and securing the press

Positioning on the vehicle is prepared using resources suited to the machine's dimensions. Blocking, positioning and load securing are incorporated into the operation before departure.

4. Transport to the destination site

Depending on the weight and dimensions, Drivet Transport International organises the appropriate vehicle, from specialised road transport through to abnormal-load transport where required, with coordination through to delivery.

Loading an industrial press using an overhead crane

Coordination of crane operations and specialised transport resources
Coordination of crane and transport resources for an industrial press
Preparing the loading operation and mobilising the appropriate equipment

These operations illustrate the ability of Drivet Transport International to manage industrial press loading as a complete operation: technical preparation, stakeholder coordination, lifting, handling, loading and transport. This end-to-end approach gives plastics manufacturers a single logistics contact for press relocation and injection moulding machine transfers.

Frequently asked questions

Can you transport an injection moulding press?+

Yes. Drivet Transport International can review the transport of injection moulding presses and plastics machinery according to their weight, dimensions, site access and available handling resources. Depending on the overall dimensions, the move may require specialist road transport or an abnormal-load solution.

How do you organise the loading and lifting of an industrial press?+

The operation is prepared in advance using the press and site characteristics: weight, dimensions, centre of gravity, lifting points, access, available overhead crane or mobile crane and the planned vehicle. Drivet Transport International can coordinate the lifting resources, handling teams, loading operation and transport departure.

When does an injection moulding press require abnormal-load transport?+

Abnormal-load transport may be required when the press exceeds standard road transport weight or dimension limits. The solution then depends on the machine's actual dimensions, the required vehicle, the route and access constraints at the loading and delivery sites.

Can you transport injection moulds?+

Yes. Injection moulds can be transported individually or as part of a wider industrial transfer. Their weight, value, packaging, handling points and production deadlines are taken into account when reviewing the most suitable solution, including dedicated transport where relevant.

Can you organise a complete press transfer between two industrial sites?+

Yes, depending on the scope of the project. Drivet Transport International can coordinate collection, lifting and handling resources, loading, transport and delivery to the new site. Unloading conditions and the final handover requirements should be defined in advance with the relevant parties.

Can you respond to an urgent production requirement in the plastics industry?+

Yes. When a part, mould, raw material or piece of equipment must reach a production site quickly, we can review an express or dedicated transport solution. Feasibility depends on the volume, weight, collection point, destination and the actual time available.

Do you transport pallets of finished plastic parts?+

Yes. We can organise the transport of pallets, bins, cartons and other packaged injection-moulded parts to customers, subcontractors, logistics platforms or other industrial sites, using part-load, chartered or dedicated transport according to volume and timing.

Can you organise raw-material supplies for injection moulding sites?+

Yes, for packaged raw materials compatible with the transport solution being reviewed, such as pallets, bags, big bags or other industrial packaging. The nature of the goods, packaging, weight and receiving-site requirements are checked before transport is organised.

Do you offer dedicated transport for sensitive or high-value equipment?+

Yes. A dedicated vehicle can be considered to reduce transhipments, limit intermediate handling and provide greater control over timing. This can be relevant for presses, moulds, tooling and other sensitive technical equipment.

Can you manage regular transport flows between several plastics-industry sites?+

Yes. Drivet Transport International can review regular rotations between factories, subcontractors, depots and customers for production-related flows such as raw materials, moulds, injection-moulded parts, packaging and equipment. Frequency and transport mode are defined according to volumes and site constraints.

Do you provide plastics-industry transport in France and across Europe?+

Yes. We can organise transport for the injection moulding and plastics industry throughout France and to many European destinations, subject to shipment feasibility, equipment dimensions and any specific road or site-access restrictions.

What information is needed to quote the transport of a press or mould?+

Useful information includes loading and delivery addresses, required dates, weight, dimensions, equipment photos, known lifting points, site-access constraints, available handling resources and site opening hours. These details help us prepare an appropriate transport plan and clear shipment follow-up.
